Please do not send us your complete tag database. If a file is not recognised, send the first lines of each section (the :Section header row and two data rows) with any plant-specific names replaced.

Importing into Ignition
- In the Designer’s Tag Browser, select the UDT Definitions folder of the target tag provider and import
udt-definitions.json. - Select the folder where the migrated tags should go and import
tags.json. - Alternatively, import
combined.jsonat the root of the tag provider; it contains the UDT definitions in a_types_folder. - Open a few converted tags in the Tag Editor and check the OPC item path, scaling and alarms.
Known limits
- Indirect tags, rate-of-change alarms and iFIX logic blocks (PID, calculation, timers) are not converted; they are listed in the report.
- Deviation alarms become OutsideValues alarms around a fixed target.
- iFIX GDB text exports are not supported; export CSV from Database Manager instead.
- Screens and scripts are out of scope.
